I ♥ Faces Week 36 - Contemplation

I'm convinced that I ♥ Faces is trying to stump the photographer! This week, the theme read as follows:

WEEK 36 - September 14th - "Contemplative"

Our Definition: thoughtful observation; full or deep consideration; dreamily or wistfully thoughtful: a pensive mood; expressing or revealing thoughtfulness; quiet modes of apparent or real thought; can be marked by some sadness, but doesn't have to be
I had a lot of trouble picking an image for this week. Ya is so expressive, and since he is so new himself, his everyday is filled with wonderment. There were a lot of pictures of him gazing off into some unknown space, lost in his own private thoughts.

Ultimately I picked this image because it shows my baby on the verge of toddler hood - old enough to try to assert some independence, but young enough to rely completely on Mommy, Daddy and Sis for the necessities and the pleasures. I snapped this right after the life guard called for a break.

Ya was sitting silently still on the side of the pool (a rarity) and staring off into the clouds. Perhaps he is contemplating why it's cold when he gets out of the pool, but more than likely he's thinking about why Mommy keeps saying "Don't drink the water" when there is so very much of it. Or maybe he's planning his next attack on big sister Chi who is happily swimming around while he's stuck in Mommy's arms.
