A morning poem before work...
Near the majestic evergreens, behind there
is another world not like mine
there, near the emerald crawling ivy
(and the ubiquitous weeds that tenaciously thrive),
beauty beneath the level of sight
is beckoning to me: "Pause. Look."
Most often I ignore silent pleading
living, instead, in the egotistical hustle
of an all about me world
Sometimes, though, when outside pressures crush
I sit under there, nearer to nature
and that parallel world that called:
"Look. Enjoy. Dream." It's there behind
my here and now, nearest calm
and I find (inside) my peace
(I so very nearly missed it)
(I so very nearly missed it)

This is gorgeous. I want you to be able to enjoy that place forever. You've done a tremendous job of delineating the contrast between the mundane and the divine. I love it!
Beautifully expressed ~ taking that time to connect to what centers us is so vital!
It can be so hard to pay attention to those pleading whispers when the rest of the world is screaming in your ear.
Lovely shot and words.
This poem is absolutely gorgeous. Even without the visual of the photo, it brings concrete images to mind and heart...."emerald crawling ivy..." ..."ubiquitous weeds..." And the sentiment is universal so we can all lose ourselves in it. Thanks.
Namaste.........cj
I was pulled right in. Lovely language! Natural is my balm too.
Love it! Both the picture and the poem. happy friday to you!
Lovely words; beautiful macro! Isn't it nice when you notice something you might just as easily missed?
That was peaceful and beautiful...I was right there. I love the photograph as well.
those teeny little moments that nest inside us...delightful.
Love the photo and the poem. Gorgeous.
A near-miss! So glad you captured it after all. :)
Beautiful post- that egg is fantastic. My favorite shade of blue. Love your Psalms quote at the top of the screen- I have that same one framed here in my office.
I love the photo - it's beautiful! Love that you stopped to listen to that other world that beckons a closer look. So worth it. :)
