Sunday Scavenger Hunt

This is a new weekly assignment for me, so we'll see how long I can keep up with it :)
1. This is Me
1.8.11 (snow shades)
Is this cheating?  I'm in the reflection of Ya's "snow glasses" - the right lens (viewer's left). Chi is in the other lens working hard on a super sized snow ball. We had a small snowfall on Saturday - so small, in fact, that the snow was a dusting at 7 a.m., was barely two inches on the grass at 9 a.m., and was but a memory (and a few photographic captures) by midday. When I commandeer the computer from my 'tween before my bedtime at least once this week, I'll probably have time to pull a few (or half dozen, but what's the difference?) pictures from our snow ball fight fun.

2. Resolutions

reach
No resolutions here, but I am working on my One Little Word project.  An initial assignment was to look up all the definitions of the word chosen.  The more I think about what reach means, the more I love that it's the word for 2011.
3. Treasured
treasured
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

4. Innocence
1.9 (innocence)
In the world of dreams, everyone has a certain innocence - a freedom to envision the world as they want it to be.  Imagination is the only limitation.  I can't get enough of the sweet, soft face of my son when he sleeps, his softly purring as his chest gently rises and lowers and his hands and facial muscles shift and twitch with activity.  I wonder what's running through his mind.

5. Primitive
skyscape (via cell phone)
Somehow, when I thought of primitive I thought of this image.  There's something so natural, so "in the beginning" about the sky. It's magic. I've been fascinated with skyscapes for several weeks now.  I even had a conversation with a colleague about how gorgeous the pinks and purples were as they painted the sky the other morning.  There was this burst of pale yellow jutting out like a sky horizon line, and as I admired it, a school bus passed the flag pole.  It would have made a beautiful picture.  I was disappointed the next day when the sun rose late and I missed it.  Anyway, this image was taken on the way to Fayetteville on Dec. 22 (yes, a little older, but I love it) with my cell phone.  The kids and I were joining Marq and the family to hold prayer vigile over Dad D. I saw the sun as a sort of "he'll come out of this, have faith in His plan and believe in Dad's strength."  We're still praying.
