{Sweet} Playce

Oma has a knack for finding the most obscure destinations... and every time she presents me with a scribbled down set of directions and addresses I know to pack the camera and lots of batteries, fill the tank, and be ready for anything.  Yes, Chi's adventures are usually crafted by Oma.

The day was absolutely beautiful - perfect fall weather with just enough breeze to send leaves cascading to the ground in a carpet of red, gold, and rusty brown color.

Now you wouldn't know it from Chi's winter coat, but the temperature was mild and invited outdoor exploration.

And that's what we found at Nature Playce - a little preserve of trees and natural log-lined paths with an education center about the native residents of the area (the non-human kind).

It took Chi (who's protective ly sitting to the left of Ya just to the right of the picture) to coax her brother to the prime location over this waterfall.

We operate under the monkey see, monkey do system - if Chi does it (and no one reprimands her), Ya will follow her example.  Now if only MSMD worked for his expression...

See? No happy face.

Wait.  Maybe he was copying Chi...

Even while playing in costumes, we can give the angry, unamused look.
(Yes, Chi, I know you'd rather be playing with your new found friend and not "freezing" for yet another photo.)

Here's a psuedo smile... Notice the missing tooth?

The story:
Lost it to an apple at school. Hunted for it on the cafeteria floor. And was unhappy to hear that the Tooth Fairy does not do weekends.

Such a beautiful series of shots! Hard to pick a favourite. The color of those leaves is just stunning.

What sweet shots! I love serious faces as much as smiling faces. :) These were great. Had to smile, too, as my shots for today at SandwichINK.com were my grandkids wearing costumes as well. Great minds... :)
Happy Sweet Shot Tuesday

Hey - in response to your question...I spend a lot of nights at home alone (my husband travels a lot and we don't have children). In my shutterlove picture, I was using my Tamron 28-75 mm lens, but I do have a macro - it's the Sigma 105 mm EX Macro.

Gorgeous shots! I especially liked the leaf shot (2nd pic) and the last one - it looks so natural!
