Six Word Fridays: Move

Frenzied Movement

Just as the sun's light dims
They gather together and make plans:

"You, little one, start yours here
And you? Start there. We'll meet --
At some point in the middle.
Move quickly with your work, now
But mind your craft, precision counts."

They begin, then, moving swiftly along
Delicately placing their sticky strings behind
Pushing each exactly with confident legs
(loom masters must study their craftsmanship)
Moonlight shimmering, it catches them delightfully
Flurries of movement -- never ceasing work
Minutes expire, they push on still
Till finally, as sunlight replaces moon shine,
It is finished. Immaculate and immense
To catch the finest feast possible
An interweaving of webs for all.

Who knew one could write such a beautiful poem about spiders? This is great! (And I love your photo in your header. I have never seen a more joyful smile).

Namaste..........cj

I agree with cj! Love the webs, don't like thinking of the spider that spun them....such a cool poem!

I remember reading a book a long time ago . I was a fantasy book and one of the characters could hear the plants and animals. There was one part that had the point of view of the spiders. The older, more staid spiders spun their webs upstairs and in the attic. The younger and more daring ones would spin their webs in the main room of the inn or tavern they lived in, knowing that they were really taking their chances with their lives and also with having to respin them all the time.
I feel like your spiders might have the same sort of thinking.

I will think twice before I swipe away a spider web next time! Hours and hours of meticulous work gone in a single moment

I love spiderwebs covered in dew.
In corners of my living room, not so much. ;) But outside, they're a wonder to behold!

Love the photo - that spider is in a frenzy. Hard at work. Lots to learn from the persistance of spiders. :)
