Six Words: Go!

At the start
Foot tense, firm against the block
finger tips radiating with pent-up energy
I wait, anxiety morphing into adrenaline
Muscles taut, anticipating the future frenzy
Eyes looking to the horizon ahead
Ears peaked toward the official's arm
(extended from him, gun pointed out)
My pulsing heart quickens, expecting it
electric - the crowd intensly leans, charged
and...then...the..sound...Get...Set...

go
six words

HaHa, you had me. I was waiting for you to talk about you having just run a marathon or something.

I love your passage from the bible on your side bar. I actually have that same one framed up in my office. :)

The anticipation's half the fun. Go! :)

This beautiful little poem reeled me in, then the twist at the end melted my heart. Great work!
