Technology Cannot Give Sight

Technology can be a wonderful thing - - in fact, if you miss a face to face class, you can check a website and access your assignments, class synopsis or even e-mail your teacher.  However, all of those capabilities require the ability to see, and unfortunately this past week saw sight as an unavailable luxury.

My daughter is a daycare baby from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. five days a week.  In that time she is exposed to any number of childhood illnesses and pesky germs.  Occasionally, she brings them home with her and those darn visitors infect the whole family.  And on Thursday, her guest was Mr. Conjunctivitis and he taught her the art of eye coloring.  Selected color: pink.  Lucky for Mommy, Mr. C was polite enough to share his gifts with her too, and by Friday she too had the blurred vision and bright pink lenses on her eyes.

So where does this leave me on my efforts to integrate technology in my classroom?  BEHIND.
